What is Sterling Silver?

Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals, usually copper.  The sterling silver standard has a minimum fineness of 925.  Pure silver is too soft so that is why other metals are added in it's composition in order for it to keep it's shape.  This is why it is hallmarked 925.

My jewellery does not contain any nickel.

How do I clean my silver jewellery?

Most silver and gold can be cleaned by using a polishing cloth or dip.  If your jewellery item has any stones, then it is not advisable to dip stones in any type of chemical dip, but please read all instructions of all cleaning product before trying to clean any items of jewellery.  My favourite is the polishing cloth.
